She never wore what was expected of a staff in the mail room, rather she dressed for the woman she knew she could be and waited for the people to realise she was fit for a higher position and opportunity to fill in that position.
One day, the CEO needed someone in the company to handle a meeting with potential clients and all the members of the marketing team were out. Who do you think got the call to sit in in his absence? Surprise! Surprise! The truth is, Miss T may not have been ready to handle that meeting yet, but she certainly dressed and handled herself in a manner that made her the go to person the CEO could call on and be proud of to represent the company, when the opportunity presented itself.
It’s not just about convincing others to believe in you; it’s about convincing yourself to believe in you too. Looking like the most put-together, elegant, responsible, knowing very of yourself makes you feel and act as such.
