Product Review: PIXI

Hey gems,

I tried out these products a friend of mine gave me when she visited Nigeria from America. Here are my honest thoughts! Now I am not a huge make-up fan. If you cannot already tell, clothes and shoes are my go to items, but the right make-up just completes the look! It took me 3 years to learn the make-up techniques I use today, so take my advice as someone who loves make-up but just in little doses.

PIXI + ITS JUDY TIME “get the look its eye time” – This eye shadow palette is beautiful. The pigments are nice and warm. They are not too bright or harsh against my skin tone. So if you are a lighter skin tone that I am, the shadow will really show. They apply very easily and the colour stays throughout the day! The only downside to this, is that the product is quite powdery so it scatters all over my face. I find that i have to use wipes after I’ve used this shadow palette or I protect my under eyes before application. Other than that, it’s my everyday go to palette!

PIXI + MARYM MAQUILLAGE –  This brush is so so so yummy! OMG! It is really soft and takes on quite a lot of product – so application technique is key here. I’ll advise tapping in some product a little at a time and then building up from there.  I really love the tapered end of this brush, it’s perfect for applying blush on the cheeks if you don’t want to spread the blush all the way across your face. The flat end is also very good for creating the perfect contour angle for your cheek bone! It does a job of creating a very defined contour line, as is also great for blending your contour cream or powder, bronzer and blush all together! Love this brush!

PIXI + MARYM MAQUILLAGE “strobe & bronze – When I first saw this, I thought it was a contour and highlight kit. Boy was I wrong. So it is a glow and bronze palette which is supposed to transform you into a sun kissed goddess. It will probably do that on a lighter skin tone, it just didn’t happen on my skin. The dark brown shades look a bit ashy when used against my skin tone, but the highlighters in these pop! Like really really pop! The longer you leave the highlighter, the prettier and softer the glow. It doesn’t cut you like the Anastacia Beverly Hills, so this is perfect for both day time and night!

Tip: If you happen to be handed make up freebies that don’t suit your skin tone, try using them for another purpose and see if it works e.g highlighter as gold eyeshadow!

Stay Inspired.
